The Experiments Raising European Students Awareness in Aeronautical Research Through School-Labs’ is the main objective of the project REStARTS. The objective of the project is to contribute in reversing the current trend of disinterest of young people towards aeronautics. In this project, the partners of the aeronautical research and training institutes develop informative material about current research topics in aeronautics including basic aerodynamic fundamentals like ‘How does an airplane fly?’ or special challenges the aeronautical research is facing like ‘How greening air transport?’ or ‘How to ensure satisfaction, safety and security of the passengers?’ . This demonstrates the direct link between research and society. The scientists work in cooperation with a pedagogic team and teachers of local schools to compile under standable teaching material, which also includes simple experiments to demonstrate the physical phenomena being investigated. The school lessons based on this material give a first impression of the challenges of the modern aeronautical research. The school-labs established at the research institutes provide more sophisticated experiments and enable school classes to get a hands-on experience inscientific work. Additional visits of the laboratories of the project partners and their industrial partners complete the program. This will build bridges between school theory and applied research by delivering an insight to the work of research organisations. The ambition is to stimulate young people’s interests in a R&D career in aeronautics and to create a European network of Aeronautical School-Labs. http://www.fp7-restarts.eu/index.php/home/root/state-of-the-art/results/the-experiments/37-booklets/concept-of-pressure 2017-06-03T19:27:28+00:00 Joomla! - Open Source Content Management Session 1: ‘Fakir bed’ or the pressure applied on a solid 2012-02-02T09:25:51+00:00 2012-02-02T09:25:51+00:00 http://www.fp7-restarts.eu/index.php/home/root/state-of-the-art/results/the-experiments/37-booklets/concept-of-pressure/67-session-1-fakir-bed-or-the-pressure-applied-on-a-solid Administrator debeer@vki.ac.be <div class="feed-description"><p><strong>Objectives 1:</strong> Understand that the pressure is proportional to the surface on which a same force is applied</p> </div> <div class="feed-description"><p><strong>Objectives 1:</strong> Understand that the pressure is proportional to the surface on which a same force is applied</p> </div> Session 2: Pressure /solid-liquid-gas 2012-02-02T09:29:19+00:00 2012-02-02T09:29:19+00:00 http://www.fp7-restarts.eu/index.php/home/root/state-of-the-art/results/the-experiments/37-booklets/concept-of-pressure/68-session-2-pressure-solid-liquid-gas Administrator debeer@vki.ac.be <div class="feed-description"><p><strong>Objective 1 :</strong> Demonstrate that the pressure in the phase solid or fluid (liquid or gas) is different</p> </div> <div class="feed-description"><p><strong>Objective 1 :</strong> Demonstrate that the pressure in the phase solid or fluid (liquid or gas) is different</p> </div> Session 3: Pressure and Height – Experiment 1 2012-02-02T09:53:25+00:00 2012-02-02T09:53:25+00:00 http://www.fp7-restarts.eu/index.php/home/root/state-of-the-art/results/the-experiments/37-booklets/concept-of-pressure/69-session-3-pressure-and-height-experiment-1 Administrator debeer@vki.ac.be <div class="feed-description"><p><strong>Objectives 1: </strong> Observe that the pressure varies with the height of water.</p> </div> <div class="feed-description"><p><strong>Objectives 1: </strong> Observe that the pressure varies with the height of water.</p> </div> Session 4: Pressure and Height – Experiment 2 2012-02-02T09:58:59+00:00 2012-02-02T09:58:59+00:00 http://www.fp7-restarts.eu/index.php/home/root/state-of-the-art/results/the-experiments/37-booklets/concept-of-pressure/70-session-4-pressure-and-height-experiment-2 Administrator debeer@vki.ac.be <div class="feed-description"><p><strong>Objectives 1: </strong> With this experiments students will observe that the pressure varies with the height of liquid, making the experiments from inside the liquid.</p> </div> <div class="feed-description"><p><strong>Objectives 1: </strong> With this experiments students will observe that the pressure varies with the height of liquid, making the experiments from inside the liquid.</p> </div> Session 5: Pressure and Density 2012-02-02T10:08:33+00:00 2012-02-02T10:08:33+00:00 http://www.fp7-restarts.eu/index.php/home/root/state-of-the-art/results/the-experiments/37-booklets/concept-of-pressure/71-session-5-pressure-and-density Administrator debeer@vki.ac.be <div class="feed-description"><p><strong>Objectives 1:</strong>  With this experiment students will observe  that the pressure varies depending of the density of the liquid.</p> </div> <div class="feed-description"><p><strong>Objectives 1:</strong>  With this experiment students will observe  that the pressure varies depending of the density of the liquid.</p> </div> Session 6 (optional): Pressure of the air if you have a large height difference 2012-02-02T10:17:37+00:00 2012-02-02T10:17:37+00:00 http://www.fp7-restarts.eu/index.php/home/root/state-of-the-art/results/the-experiments/37-booklets/concept-of-pressure/72-session-6-optional-pressure-of-the-air-if-you-have-a-large-height-difference Administrator debeer@vki.ac.be <div class="feed-description"><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Objective 1: </strong> Demonstrate that air pressure varies in function of the height</p> </div> <div class="feed-description"><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Objective 1: </strong> Demonstrate that air pressure varies in function of the height</p> </div>
