The Experiments Raising European Students Awareness in Aeronautical Research Through School-Labs’ is the main objective of the project REStARTS. The objective of the project is to contribute in reversing the current trend of disinterest of young people towards aeronautics. In this project, the partners of the aeronautical research and training institutes develop informative material about current research topics in aeronautics including basic aerodynamic fundamentals like ‘How does an airplane fly?’ or special challenges the aeronautical research is facing like ‘How greening air transport?’ or ‘How to ensure satisfaction, safety and security of the passengers?’ . This demonstrates the direct link between research and society. The scientists work in cooperation with a pedagogic team and teachers of local schools to compile under standable teaching material, which also includes simple experiments to demonstrate the physical phenomena being investigated. The school lessons based on this material give a first impression of the challenges of the modern aeronautical research. The school-labs established at the research institutes provide more sophisticated experiments and enable school classes to get a hands-on experience inscientific work. Additional visits of the laboratories of the project partners and their industrial partners complete the program. This will build bridges between school theory and applied research by delivering an insight to the work of research organisations. The ambition is to stimulate young people’s interests in a R&D career in aeronautics and to create a European network of Aeronautical School-Labs. http://www.fp7-restarts.eu/index.php/home/root/state-of-the-art/results/the-experiments/53-booklets-safety/critical-situation-in-take-off-or-landing-phase 2017-06-03T19:27:56+00:00 Joomla! - Open Source Content Management Session 1: Critical situation in take off or landing phase 2012-02-20T14:19:06+00:00 2012-02-20T14:19:06+00:00 http://www.fp7-restarts.eu/index.php/home/root/state-of-the-art/results/the-experiments/53-booklets-safety/critical-situation-in-take-off-or-landing-phase/99-4-0-critical-situation-in-take-off-or-landing-phase Administrator debeer@vki.ac.be <div class="feed-description"><p>Objective1: Emphasize critical condition that can occurs during take off or landing phases   <br />Objective2: Explain the importance of the fin and the rudder for an airplane   <br />Objective3: Show an application of passive safety (crashworthiness)</p> </div> <div class="feed-description"><p>Objective1: Emphasize critical condition that can occurs during take off or landing phases   <br />Objective2: Explain the importance of the fin and the rudder for an airplane   <br />Objective3: Show an application of passive safety (crashworthiness)</p> </div> Session 2: One Engine Out Condition 2012-02-20T14:35:19+00:00 2012-02-20T14:35:19+00:00 http://www.fp7-restarts.eu/index.php/home/root/state-of-the-art/results/the-experiments/53-booklets-safety/critical-situation-in-take-off-or-landing-phase/100-4-1-one-engine-out-condition Administrator debeer@vki.ac.be <div class="feed-description"><p>Objective1: To give essential concepts of management of one engine out condition at take off and landing phases</p> <p>Objective2: To give ideas of critical potential critical problem of the above condition</p> </div> <div class="feed-description"><p>Objective1: To give essential concepts of management of one engine out condition at take off and landing phases</p> <p>Objective2: To give ideas of critical potential critical problem of the above condition</p> </div> Session 3: Side Wind Condition 2012-02-20T14:42:42+00:00 2012-02-20T14:42:42+00:00 http://www.fp7-restarts.eu/index.php/home/root/state-of-the-art/results/the-experiments/53-booklets-safety/critical-situation-in-take-off-or-landing-phase/101-4-2-side-wind-condition Administrator debeer@vki.ac.be <div class="feed-description"><p>Objective1: To give essential concepts of management of side wind condition during take off and landing phases  <br />Objective2: To give ideas of critical potential critical problem of the above condition</p> </div> <div class="feed-description"><p>Objective1: To give essential concepts of management of side wind condition during take off and landing phases  <br />Objective2: To give ideas of critical potential critical problem of the above condition</p> </div> Session 4: Crashworthiness 2012-02-20T14:52:49+00:00 2012-02-20T14:52:49+00:00 http://www.fp7-restarts.eu/index.php/home/root/state-of-the-art/results/the-experiments/53-booklets-safety/critical-situation-in-take-off-or-landing-phase/102-4-3-crashworthiness Administrator debeer@vki.ac.be <div class="feed-description"><p>Objective1: To give an example of crashworthiness (passive safety)</p> <p>Objective2: To show how the aeronautical technology could manage crashworthiness problems</p> </div> <div class="feed-description"><p>Objective1: To give an example of crashworthiness (passive safety)</p> <p>Objective2: To show how the aeronautical technology could manage crashworthiness problems</p> </div>
